바이올린 신동 대니얼 조(19)가 과르네리 (Guarneri) 델 제수(del Gesu)를 연주한다.

과르네리는 스트라디바리우스, 아마티와 함께 세계 최고의 악기로 불리는 명품 바이올린.

 

"스트라디바리우스는 아무리 슬퍼도 너무 고고해서 차마 눈물을 보이지 못하는 귀족이라면,

과르네리는 울고 싶을 때 땅바닥에 탁 퍼져 앉아 통곡할 수 있는 솔직하고 겸손한 농부 같다"

바이올리니스트 정경화씨가 했던 말이다.

 

과르네리 가문에서 처음으로 바이올린을 제조한 사람은 1650년대의 안드레아 과르네리.

과르네리 델 제수는 그의 손주인 바르톨로메오 주세페 과르네리가 만들었다.

대부분의 유명 바이올리니스트들은 스트라디바리와 과르네리를 함께 연주하는데

과르네리 델 제수를 연주하는 바이올리니스트로는 야샤 하이페츠, 아이작 스턴,

이자크 펄만, 기돈 크레이머, 핀커스 주커만, 정경화, 장영주등이 있으며..

바이올린의 명장 니콜로 파가니니가 가장 아끼던 바이올린도 과르네리 델 제수였다고 한다.

 

대니얼 조가 과르네리로 연주하는 워싱톤음악인협회 주최 사랑의 하모니 음악회.

알렉산드리아 노바 칼리지 콘서트홀에서 11 3() 오후 7시부터 개최된다.

피아니스트는 줄리아드와 인디애나 대학에서 학부, 라이스대학에서 석사,

예일대에서 박사를 수학한 연주자 제시카 오스본이 맡는다.

1부가 끝나면 휴식시간을 갖은 후에..

워싱톤 솔로이스트 앙상블과 남성기독합창단의 공연도 이루어진다.

가을밤을 아름답게 수놓는 음악회에 여러분 모두를 초청한다.

워싱턴음악인협회가 창단된지 8주년을 맞이했습니다.

김치가 먹고 싶어 어렵게 얻은 고춧가루에 양배추로 김치 담궈먹던 시절,

음악을 향한 열정을 품고 도미하여 어려운 영어와 힘든 미국생활을 견디며

이곳 워싱턴에 음악인들의 삶의 기초를 만드신 선배님들이 계십니다.

한국인의 정이 그리워 함께 모여 음악과 예술을 논하던 따뜻한 모임으로 발족된

워싱턴 음악인 협회가 홈 콘서트로 부터 매해 정기적인 연주로서의 공공연주회를

이어나가는 역사를 이루게 되어 감개 무량합니다.

이 지역을 대표하는 두 음악단체인 크리스쳔 클라시컬 싱어즈,

서로 사랑을 나누며 하모니를 이루는 음악회를 준비하였습니다.

Daniel Cho

Acclaimed as “…[a violinist with] musicality and lyricism of the Judeo-Russian school…” (Liberation), Daniel Cho has performed actively both as soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States and Korea. Mr. Cho is the prize winner of numerous competitions, including Irving M. Klein International String Competition, Juilliard Pre-College Concerto Competition and Great Mountains International Music Festival Competition. As a chamber musician, he toured as a member of Sejong Chamber Players to Dominican Republic, Colombia and Costa Rica. He also made appearances at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and The Morgan Library & Museum. As a member of Sejong Soloists, the highly acclaimed conductor-less string ensemble, he has performed at venues such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, Sejong Performing Arts Center, and Seoul Arts Center. In April, 2010, Mr. Cho had his New York debut recital at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall presented by the Korea Music Foundation. He is scheduled for a Paris debut recital at Musee du Louvre in April, 2013. He currently studies at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Professor Hyo Kang. He performs on a violin by Pietro Giovanni Guarneri, Mantua, 1710, which is on loan to him from Mr. Higgin Kim, Chairman of Byucksan Engineering Co. Ltd, through The Stradivari Society® of Chicago and Sejong Soloists.

 

  

 

Jessica Xylina Osborne

 

 

Hailed by the Washington Post as a pianist “with a refreshing mellowness and poetic touch” after her debut with the National Symphony Orchestra, Jessica Xylina Osborne has established herself as a soloist and chamber musician of emotional depth and passionate energy. She has performed widely in the United States and Europe, including performances in such venues as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater and Concert Hall, and Steinway Hall. Radio broadcasts include NPR’s Performance Today, WQXR in New York, WGMS in Washington D.C., and KUHF in Houston. Jessica Osborne is an avid chamber music collaborator, working with some of the world’s most distinguished performing musicians including Miriam Fried and Felicia Moye, and with such rising stars as Ann Fontanella, Paul Huang, and Yura Lee. As a founding member of Trio Dumka, Ms. Osborne has toured Western Europe, including performances in Venasque, Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Barcelona. As an active proponent of new music, Jessica Osborne is a frequent collaborator with composers including Martin Bresnick and Christopher Theofanidis, and has premiered works by Matthew Barnson, Ted Hearne, and Hannah Lash.

She recently performed with members of Opera Moderne at the Galapagos Art Space in

Brooklyn, receiving praise from the New York Times, and is a frequent collaborator in the

renowned New Music New Haven series. A winner of numerous piano competitions, Jessica Osborne has received international recognition with top awards in the International Bartok-Kabalevsky-Prokofiev Competition, International Russian Music Piano Competition, and the Ima Hogg Young Artists’ Competition.

Jessica Osborne recently completed her doctoral studies in piano performance at Yale

University, where she studied with Claude Frank. She received her Master of Music degree at

Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music under the tutelage of Jon Kimura Parker. She

received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University and the Juilliard School. Previous

teachers include Emile Naoumoff, Seymour Lipkin, Martin Canin, Marjorie Lee, and Patricia

Washington Soloist Ensemble

워싱톤 솔로이스트 앙상블은 1993년 설립된 단체로 워싱턴 DC지역의 전문적인 성악가와

음악을 사랑하는 30여명의 단원들로 구성되었으며 음악을 통해 지역 사회를 위해 봉사하며

기쁨과 사랑을 나누는데 그 목적을 두고 있다.

 

그동안 음악을 사랑하는 워싱턴 동포의 끊임없는 격려와 성원에 힘입어

바흐, 모차르트, 말러, 쌩쌍의 서양 고전 합창음악에서 성가곡, 한국 가곡 및 각국 민요에

이르기까지 다양한 레퍼토리로 한국인의 가슴에 뜨겁게 울려 퍼지는 노래를 불러왔다.

창단이래로 참신한 기획과 수준 높은 연주를 통해 지역 최고의 합창단으로 자리매김 해온

워싱턴 쏠로이스트 앙상블은 University of Maryland, George Mason University,

NOVA Community College, Kennedy Center등 유수의 공연장에서 연주회를 가졌으며

미국내 여러 민족들이 함께 한 “워싱턴의 아세아 축제”와 “9 11 추모 음악회” 및

“이민 100 주년 행사”에서 워싱턴의 미주 한인을 대표해 참석했다.

지역 사회를 위해서 불우이웃돕기, 한미 장애인협회, 한미 장학재단, 워싱턴 한인 봉사센터,

YMCA, 밀알 선교단, 북한동포 의약품 보내기 등의 자선 음악회와

기금모금 음악회에 20 여회에 걸쳐 참여해 왔으며..

지역 양로원을 찾아 가는 음악회를 통해 사랑의 나눔을 실천하고 있다.

Washington Soloist Ensemble is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 1993 and registered in the State of Maryland. The ensemble has brought many music concerts, beneficial events and performances to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area since then. Comprised of professional musicians and amateurs, Washington Soloist Ensemble serves local communities, youth organizations, the YMCA, several church missionaries, and the Christian community in general.

Washington Soloist Ensemble members hail from several Korean churches and live in areas ranging from Baltimore, MD to Richmond, VA. Our conductor Dr. Yeong-Su Kim also conducts the Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra, Christian Dream Youth Orchestra and Washington Korean Symphony Orchestra. In the past 19 years, we have orchestrated 30 regular concerts and 12 beneficial music events, including performances such as the ‘9-11 Memorial Concert’ and ‘Asia in Washington’. We performed most recently at the Vienna Presbyterian Church on June 23rd, 2012 presenting 'The Creation of the World' composed by Daniel Pinkham.

 Accompanist: Gina Hong

 

Pianist, Gina Hong, a native of Seoul, Korea, is a doctoral candidate in piano performance at Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University studying under the legendary pianist Ellen Mack.  In Korea, Ms. Hong has studied piano under Professor Jung Kyu Ki m and Eun Kyung Hong at Seoul National University where she was awarded B.M. and M.M. in Piano Performance. Also, she earned Graduate Performance Diploma at Peabody Conservatory. Ms. Hong's musical activities extend to her collaboration with other accomplished musicians.  She has been regularly invited by local violinists, cellists, and vocalists to perform chamber music.  Ms. Hong's sensitivity in piano accompaniment has earned her reputation as one of the most reliable pianists. She has given recitals at Buam Art Hall, Goodwin Hall, and Friedberg Hall. Ms. Hong has been chosen to perform in master classes with world famous pianists such as Leon Fleisher.  Ms. Hong has awarded many scholarships from Seoul National University, Sunje foundation, and the St. Andrew Kim Catholic Church. As a devoted private teacher, she has taught students of all levels in northern Virginia since 2001. She is a member of MTNA and an accompanist in the Washington Soloist Ensemble. Also, Ms. Hong has served as an accompanist at the Korean Central Presbyterian Church since 2000.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
Conductor: Dr. Yeong Su Kim
 

Yeong Su Kim is a highly sought-after conductor and oboist in the Washington DC area. He has been serving as music director of the Washington Soloist Ensemble since 2009, and currently holds positions as conductor of the Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra and String Workshop, the Washington Korean Symphony Orchestra, and the Korean Central Presbyterian Church.  As a guest conductor, he recently led Youth Orchestras of Prince William and the Great Noise Ensemble, which focuses on compositions of 1970 or later.  Dr. Kim has also served as music director of the Christian Dream Youth Orchestra, Bethesda Summer Music Festival and the Great Multitude Presbyterian Church.  On numerous occasions, he has led the Catholic University Symphony Orchestra and the Repertoire Orchestra.  Dr. Kim often appears on the Kennedy Center stages for the Asian American Heritage Month Celebration. Dr. Kim received his orchestral conducting degree (MM) from the Catholic University of America, where he studied with Murry Sidlin and David Searle.  Further conducting studies include participation in such prestigious workshops as the Rose City International Conductor’s Workshop and a conductor’s workshop led by maestro Jorge Mester and the Naples Philharmonic. Dr. Kim is also an accomplished oboist, earning his degrees in oboe performance from University of Maryland at College Park (DMA), Yale University (MM) and University of Southern California (BM).  An active chamber musician, he is a founding member ofVoci di Vento Quintet and has performed with the group extensively. Serving as principal oboist of the Oratorio Society of Charlottesville-Albemarle and the American Balalaika Symphony Orchestra, Dr. Kim has also performed as co-principal oboist with the Washington Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, American Youth Symphony Orchestra and Debut Orchestra.  In addition, Dr. Kim has appeared with numerous ensembles as a guest artist, including the Georgetown Wind Symphony, the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra, Bimhamton Philharmonic Orchestra and Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra in Korea. Dr. Kim has collaborated with such world-class conductors as Zubin Mehta and Sergiu Comissiona as well as many world renowned soloists, including Midori, Daniel Pollack and Mstislav Rostropovich. Committed to education, Dr. Kim served as a conducting lecturer at the Catholic University of America and adjunct professor at the Columbia Union College.  He is also highly in demand as an adjudicator for many competitions, including the Asian American Music Society International Competition and the Lions of Virginia Bland Music Competition.  Dr. Kim also is a founder of Ensembles for Everyone, a concert program tailored for special needs students, which has been sponsored by the Piedmont Community Foundation for 2011-12.

기독 남성 성악 앙상블인 크리스찬 클래시컬 싱어즈(C.C.S) 2008

워싱턴 메트로 폴리탄 지역에서 활동하고 있던 남성 성악가들에 의해

높은 수준의 음악연주와 그리스도인으로서 받은 은혜를 함께 나누며

하나님께 받은 달란트를 통해 하나님께 찬양 드리며 영광 돌리기 위해 창단됐다.

 

그 동안 Love story, Winter story concert 시리즈를 비롯 수많은 교회 순회 연주와

지역 방문 연주를 비롯하여 한국 전쟁 기념 연주회, 한국 가곡의 밤, 성가의 밤, 북한 난민 돕기

음악회와 이명박 대통령 방미 기념 만찬 초청 연주등 다양한 연주회를 개최한 바 있다.

C.C.S의 모든 멤버들은 교회의 지휘자로, 음악 감독으로 그리고 워싱턴 내셔널 오페라단과

뉴욕 메트로 폴리탄 오페라 극장등에서 활발하게 활동하고 있다.

The Christian Classical Singers(C.C.S) was established in 2008 through the strong ties of eight individuals of classical male singers in the Metropolitan area of Washington D.C, to produce high qualities of performance, to share graces, and to praise with the talents each individual was given. C.C.S had produced numerous concerts such as 'My favorite Songs', 'Winter Story', 'Love Story', 'Opera Gala Concert', 'Korean Art Songs Night', 'Sacred Concert', 'Mission of North Korea Escapees Support Concert', etc.

As you may have noticed for our group name, C.C.S, every member of our group is working as a church conductor, music director, and performing actively for the Washington National Opera or New York Metropolitan Opera variety stages.
